The Crappie Anglers of Texas put on a Veterans Tournament on Lake Lavon today 9/11/2021. The goal of this yearly tournament is to give something back to our vets as a way to say thank you.
Each Veteran is paired with a seasoned boat captain, fed a good meal, and provided a friendly tournament with a one fish weigh in. This year CAT gave away several guided crappie trips to the Veterans that were donated to CAT specifically for this tournament.
Special thanks to David Stevens with Smokey Daves and to Parker Floyd for smoking the food and feeding everyone breakfast tacos and then pulled pork sandwhiches for lunch! It was awesome. If you guys are looking to cater an event, give them a call! They set up Friday night and smoked meat all night for the Vets! We really appriciate it!!

I think I can speak for everyone by saying today’s event was a HUGE success!
1st place weight (1.68 )went to Tony Abbott. He won a guide trip with Greg Nechamkin!
2nd place weight (1.64) went to Chris Newland. He won a guided crappie trip with Kent Jarrett!
3rd place weight (1.62) went to Jose Lozada. He won a guided crappie trip with Lane Palmer!
We then had a drawing for the other guide trips donated…

Aaron Hernandez won a trip with Clay Gann
Lewis Frias won a trip with Jordan Sanders
Rich Bush won a trip with Mack Curry
Tommy Ezell and Bonehead tackle donated some baits and a 10′ bonehead rod to put in the drawing!
Jacob Lee won the rod
Every vet got some baits and a Crappie Anglers of Texas shirt!
Jacob Lee also donated a really cool mounted flag that actually flew in a combat mission over Afganistan! Jay Underwood won the flag. That was a really cool thing!
