Belton Lake Qualifier

Crappie Anglers of Texas is proud to announce The Bell County Sportsman Club and Crappie Anglers of Texas organizations are co-hosting a CAT Qualifier Tournament May 15, 2010. Last year this was a CAT sanctioned tournament. The tournament was such a success, the CAT Board of Directors gladly approved having Belton as a qualifier when approached by The Bell County Sportsman Club. The weigh-in site is being hosted at the Bell County Sportsmans Club House, 2440 Sportsmans Club Rd. 

 Quick Facts:

1.     Guaranteed $1000 Division 1 and $500 Division 2.

2.     Big Crappie Cash Awards

a.    Division 1, Pro Angler Tackle — $100

b.    Division 2, Finny Tribe — $50

3.     The Days Inn (254 774 9223) on IH35 in Temple has offered a discount rate of $55.21 tax for rooms — mention Crappie Anglers of Texas.  Coming south on IH35 take the Nugent exit for the Days Inn. 

a.       The following motels are also on IH35 about 1/2 mile apart. All have outside room entrances so charging boats should be easy.  All these motels are located close together and are about 12 miles from the lake.

4.     For minnows try Mickey's Quik Stop (Shell Station) on Hwy 317 at intersection of FM2843.  Mickey's is located about 1 1/2 mile south of the Hwy 317 and Hwy 36 interchange. Owner Rhonda Kelly has always been supportive of the crappie tournaments in the past.  They have small @ $1.79dz, medium @ $2.09dz. I'm not aware of anyone that sells by the pound.

5.     Friday night free BBQ for sponsors and participants will be held at the Bell County Sportsmans Club House at 2440 Sportsmans Club Rd.  Menu is brisket, sausage, wild hog, potato salad, beans, coleslaw, drinks, and cobbler. We plan to start serving at 6pm. Come early, buy raffle tickets and visit.

6.     To save time on Saturday, the usual prizes gathered will be distributed via raffle Friday night at the BBQ.  This will be a CAT raffle to raise funds for CAT.  So bring your money, there will be some good prizes.  A list of prizes will be listed later.
