The third seminar meeting was held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Carrollton Public Library, Rm #2, at 4220 N Josey @ Hebron Pky.

The first half of the meeting was mostly club business. (I missed most of this due to a long drive through the midwest ice storms! I also saw more accidents than I care to remember.)

The second segment of the meeting was used to present tournament rules and details for the upcoming February 23, 2008 tournament on Lake Lavon. The rules will be posted here on the website as soon as a copy is received.

Guy Skinner finished the meeting with fox knot (according to Paul) and Palomar knot demonstrations for tying on tackle, followed by a long demonstration of how not to untie knots. He also spent a little time discussing the use of "backing" and surgeon knots to keep from having to lose 150yds of line for every line refill. Or worse yet, not changing line on reels at all (Ernest?!) due to the time and cost. Guy also spent some time explaining the two basic kinds of rods, and what the pros and cons were to both.

There was another great turn out of approx 75 members or so with 14 new members. (anyone get an actual count?)
