The fifth seminar meeting was held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Carrollton Public Library, Rm #2, at 4220 N Josey @ Hebron Pky.

The meeting started with a few minutes of club business. Guy gave us an update about hats, shirts, and other gear available with the club logo embroidered. We also voted on 1 of 3 design chooses for a decal to go on boats, truck, etc. It looked like we had a clear winner by the end of the meeting. Guy is taking care of the details of getting approval from the board and acquiring the decals for us to purchase.  Contact Guy for information on purchasing merchandise.

Ernest asked the "Millwood crew" to give us a report. We received a very detailed and thorough report of not only Millwood, but also lots of good information for fishing crappie in general. This was quite a lengthy segment with details about great jigs to purchase, including color choice, when to use them, and how to mod jigs if necessary.

Ernest mentioned the club had not yet received a report from the Lewisville Tourney winners. We learned details about location, depth, water temp, presentation, and approach. Paul, George, Guy, Ernest, and the winners added comments about how to help narrow down location and presentation based on some of the other factors.

The two reports combined lasted the majority of the meeting and were packed with tips and tricks! Another great meeting filled with crappie fishing information!

Ernest turned the discussion to the upcoming Richland Chambers tourney by asking who had fished RC in the past. There were only about 10. Ernest provided information about places to start by identifying timber, creeks, and coves "near" to the weigh-in on the wall map. He reminded us RC is huge. Things that look close on the map can be several miles apart. Ernest mentioned a few spots further south, but suggested driving around to get to them versus going down around the big point south of the marina. George added that the point (pointing south) comes way out in the lake and is shallow. Ernest and Paul indicated several places where timber was thick and possibly just under water making a nice prop stopper. Guy added that boats have been speared through when folks have tried to navigate timber in big water such as 3 or 4' swells. Don't do it!

Paul changed up the raffle to be 50/50 pot as well as offered a "one-of-a-kind" CAT hat. He will most likely alternate between the two styles of raffles held in the last couple of meetings.

Reminder: The Richland Chambers tourney scheduled for April 12, 2008 starts at 7AM and concludes at 3PM. All members (usually 2) of your team must be in the weigh-in line by 3PM. Give yourself plenty of time to load your boat and remember there is about a 50 team bass tourney going on at RC at the same marina. Their weigh-in is also at 3PM. Paul reminded us a couple of times to give ourselves plenty of time to get in line by 3PM!! See you there!
